In 1270, on the 16th of February, Lithuanian army led by the king Traidenis, were coming back from a successful campaign from the island of Saaremaa. On the frozen Baltic Sea at Karuse they've faced the united army of Livonian Order and the Danish troops. The Lithuanians arranged their sleighs as a barricade and has decisively trapped the cavalry, ruthlessly striking with spears the misfortunate knights, which led Lithuanians to achieve the victory.
