Ottoman Sultan Osman II planned the defeat of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and a march into central Europe.
In 1621 late September-early October near Khotyn on the shores of the river Dniester the army of 70 thousand united regiments of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Poland, and Cossacks of Zaporozhia, successfully defeated the Ottomans army of 220 thousand men. The Turkish army was led by Sultan Osman II himself, and the united army was led by the great leader of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania - Grand Hetman Jan Karol Chodkiewicz and other great commanders - Alexander Sapieha, Zenavichius Nicholas, Alexander Radziwill, John Zavisha.
