"The Statutes of Lithuania" is the twelfth medal from the collection "Majestic Lithuania".

The Statutes of Lithuania were the three sets of law documents, developed in the sixteenth century. They defined the laws of the Grand Duchy until 1840.
During the union with Poland (1385-1569 m.) and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Lithuanian Statutes were the main feature of Lithuanian independence.

These codes of law affected the development of the law systems of the neighbouring countries. The III Lithuanian Statute was taken as an example creating the Russian Sobor codes of law in 1649.
